The Dudley Corporation
The Corpo have been making fine indie-rock for the past 6 years, usually of the short catchy and mathy variety. Their forthcoming LP shifts from that a little, continuing to get more epic from the last album, lusher but with the same ear for a tune.
The first two albums were recorded at Chem19 Studios in Scotland with Andy Miller. 2002 saw them play a 15 date tour of the US and Iceland to coincide with the US release of their first LP on Flameshovel Records. LP #2 was preceded by a top 30 single in the Irish national charts and has since been licensed in the US, Japan, Netherlands and Australia. The new record should be out in US and Europe in August '07 followed by tours in the US and Ireland.
“It is a John Cusack of a rock album: the songs full of a robust, boyish energy, an I-can't-stop-myself hyperactivity, a tremendous intelligence and a tendency to go off without any notice on fantastic, mind-boggling tangents.” - Hot Press
